Course Description
This course introduces students to the principles and methods of effective Bible study, based on Howard F. Vos’ Effective Bible Study. Students will learn observation, interpretation, application, and structured study approaches such as word studies, topical studies, biographical studies, devotional studies, and book studies.
Course Objectives
• Explain the importance of diligent Bible study.
• Demonstrate sound observation, interpretation, and application of Scripture.
• Apply a variety of Bible study methods (word, topical, biographical, devotional, synthetic).
• Complete a written book study applying course methods.

Course Requirements and Grading
• Class Participation and Attendance – 20%
• Weekly Quizzes (one per chapter of Vos) – 40%
• Assignments (short written studies and exercises) – 20%
• Final Project: Book Study – 20%
